Company officials told Ynet that they had received an instruction from the Jerusalem Police not to send their crews into neighborhoods in the capital where residents have been violently protesting the arrest of a haredi woman suspected of starving her son.

Ah… here is the Government’s retalitation against the Observant Jews.

    Mess with their power,
Prevent the crews from repairing it.
    People have no power/refrigeration/a/c etc.

The protests stop, and the observant Jews are again repressed.

They should continue to not provide service to the Rebbes who incite these lunitics and to those Rebbes who do nothing to stop them.

I wouldn’t cut off the power. Rather I’d position tanks at the entrance to Meah Shearim and Geulah and seal off the ares, rendering the residents prisoners of their homes. The beheimes can feel free to burn as much as they want, and suffer the consequences, while the rest of us get on with our lives..

Israel is just like Iran. Kill all dissenters. Use the media to sow hate against anyone you don’t like. From some of these less than brilliant posts we can see that it is working.

Lets compare a second with the arabs in Gaza. They have among them a FEW rioters and a FEW terrorists that want to Kill every jew, and when we talk about not supplying them with electicity (which the israelies pay for in full) for a few hours a day, we get the whole world breathing down our backs. “We cant have everyone suffer, women and children etc. just because of a few unrully teenagers… Now here we have a Fanatical ULTRA ORTHODOX neighborhood where EVERYONE is a fanatic and EVERYONE is out there burning garbage bins and rioting…of course we should lock them down and shut their electricity (which THEY pay for in full) and we should surround them with tanks and let them die out……….. Some people here forget who were talking about and its disgusting with what hate they write about their brothers in pain …wether their right or wrong… and I agree that this isnt the way to go but this is not the way to comment on the story either.

This is beginning to sound like the closing off of the jewish ghettos in WWII,……I don’t blame the IEC but its really tragic…the news wire services are describing this as shutting off power and water supplies to Meah Shearim as an effort by the city to force the rioting chassidim into submission…gevaltik…

This isn’t punitive, it’s a matter of safety. They said IF the workers encountered violence, they would cut off service. How can a company send their employees in to get pelted with rocks?

Cutting off power for everyone is crazy. They should however stop the rioting using tear gas, water cannons and the ‘skunk bomb’ though

They claim that the lady never starved the child that it is very sick and that the doctors were experimentibg on them and the whole thing is a cover up.
If the Charaidim are right , what should they be doing to make sure that they are heard?
I’m not saying that the right way is to destroy property, cars or throw stones, what i’m asking is what do people think they could do.
A peacefull demonstration won’t work, those that are covering it up are going to even praise them for their conduct, but the cover up will continue.
Sometimes youmay havee to do things out of the ordinary to get heard and it should not get repeated. again I’m not justifying but anybody has a better idea?
look what happened with gush Katif, peacefull marches didn’t get them anywhere, what was being done was a terrible thing, and they probably counted on the religious public not doing anything too drastic.
Understand them (Don’t judge them until you are on their place) and give them a better idea.

Interesting. They will cut off the power to the chareidim but they don’t turn off the power to Gaza when they shoot rockets or send suicide bombers. We are still providing the power to our enemies.

If I had to risk my life to do my job…. I would just not do it. Who cares what the police say?!?!

I would not risk going into a building to fix the power and having some animal set it on fire. I would not risk going into an alley to fix power and risk some piece of human filth in chareidi clothing setting all the dumpsters around me on fire. On this issue, it has nothing to do with being anti-chareidi. These communities have become infiltrated by a number of terrorists posing as chareidim. Until these criminals are rounded up and thrown in prison, I would not want to go there either. Arson is a serious crime that puts everyone’s life in danger. I don’t care what cause is being protested, when someone decides to become an arsonist they become nothing more than wild dogs to be locked in cages.
