James Mattice Sr., 50, of Terryville was at the wheel of his sister’s Nissan Altima headed east on Rt. 202 past the Green when Rabbi Eisenbach, the driver and lone occupant of a Toyota Avalon, pulled out in front of the oncoming car from Meadow Street and was struck broadside, police said.
Eisenbach, who complained of back and neck pain, was transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was seen moving his arms and communicating with rescue workers at the scene.
Police closed Rt. 202 for almost an hour, and diverted traffic on to West Street until the accident scene was cleared.
Rabbi Eisenbach is the spiritual leader of Chabad Northwest Connecticut
After the events of the past two weeks, its good news to hear right before shabbos how lucky Eisenbach was. The article implies the accident was his fault because he pulled directly out into the path of an incoming care. Yidden have to start watching how they drive.
