Some 30 members were in the synagogue, when they smelled smoke. They went outside to discover the playground completely engulfed in flames.
Witnesses said they saw three teens, two girls and a boy, fleeing the scene with a duffel bag.
It took firefighters only 15 minutes to douse the flames.
Today is Tisha B’av, a traditional day of mourning for Jews. It commemorates the two-thousand year anniversary of the burning of the Jewish temple.
Omaha police are searching for the teens suspected of starting the fire. Anyone with information is asked to contact the arson hotline, at 444-FIRE

There are actually frum jews in Omaha?
It appears to be an OU affiliated shul. I would expect that its probably a very small and friendly place, but without some of the stuff you might expect from a larger shul. There are probably not 14 different shirium etc.
Never been there, but the pictures on the webpage look nice
Since Omaha doesn’t have any notable yeshivas or notable Talmud chachams, you can’t blame NY/NJ frum Jews for not knowing if there are any Jews in Omaha. I’m sure Patagonia might have a frum community like Omaha but no one hears of them much either.
How could there be Jews in Omaha? After all, it is west of the Hudson river.
Maybe they meant that there are Indians there from the ten lost tribes of Israel?
As a Jew originally from Omaha, I’m used to every single NYer I meet asking me incredulously, “There are Jews in Omaha!?” and even questioning me about my heritage to ascertain my Jewishness for him/herself. It’s a little provincial. As my mom likes to say, “Not everyone who came in through Ellis Island settled within 20 miles of where the ship dropped them off.”
There are notable talmud chachams in Omaha!!! maybe everyone should not talk about what they dont know
