According to the paper, this area is totally unaccounted for, with millions of shekels passing hands every year going unrecorded.

The move has reportedly aroused an uproar in religious circles.

if the money goes to the rabbis themselves then it should be taxed as income.

If it goes to a yeshiva then no

I will never forget when I met a “BIG TZADIK, KABALIST AND DESCENDANT OF SUCH RABBIS OF YORE” who was dispensing (sic ‘selling’) blessings, promises and advice while all dressed in white in a town in Israel, then I find him in a Switzerland bank with a attache case of money and dressed in a normal business suit. So then and there I learned were all his money went. NOT TO HELP THE POOR OF HIS OWN BRETHERN as did his grandfather, to whom money meant nothing.
