According to The Journal News more than $860,000 in federal stimulus dollars have been sent to the county to help keep people in their homes. But there are restrictions on how the money can be used and the program is only available to people who fall within the income requirements

A caseworker with the county’s Department of Social Services is handling the cases. Those who need help should call 845-364-2023 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays to learn if they are eligible.
