According to The Huffington Post Yosi Sergant, who recently popped up on Beck’s radar for his involvement in a conference call on national service, has been asked to resign as communications director by the National Endowment for the Arts, sources familiar with the move tell the Huffington Post.
At issue was an August conference call in which the NEA encouraged select artists to participate in an administration project dubbed “United We Serve” and led by the first lady.
Beck attacked Sergant and the NEA on his Fox News talk show, accusing the agency of propaganda efforts similar to those used by Nazi Germany. And now Sergant has been tossed overboard, making him Beck’s second victim in his campaign to rid the administration of perceived radicals, socialists, communists, fascists, anarchists and all other manner of nefarious influences.

UPDATE: The NEA has updated their statement to emphasize that Yosi Sargent remains with the agency, but in a different position: “As regards Yosi Sergant, he has not left the National Endowment for the Arts. He remains with the agency, although not as director of communications.”
Sources familiar with the situation say that the move represents a significant step down and was the result of the controversy. Discussion about his new duties is still ongoing.

This guy showed zero judgement and was simply swept up with the moment and thought he was doing god’s will. He is a low level bureaucrat and I can recall about a number of Bush senior staffers who had to resign for making stupid comments about the U.S. being a Christian nation, for engaging in shoplifting, for lying to grand juries, etc. This is normal attrition within a new Administration of either party, and with literally hundreds, if not thousands of presidential or political appointees, its not surprising.

For whatever it’s worth, I’ve reviewed the full text of the “controversial” emails. United We Serve is a call for volunteer work to address community needs. It is not a call for “political art” or propaganda, and the emails do not call for this either. (Nor do the comments from the conference call aired on Fox.) The idea seems to have been to ask artists to encourage more volunteerism. It seems to me that Beck has, once again, invented an issue from a combination of selective quoting, misrepresentation and paranoid fantasy. It’s a shame this passes for reporting, and doubly a shame that it has political consequences.
There are janitors that are closer to the President than this guy. What’s the big deal? It is like saying you got the bathroom attendant fired. No news here.

Glenn Beck is 100% on target. Obama has surrounded himself with radicals who want to destroy our democracy. His creation of czars ( our zaides and bubbes once lived under czars), are a true indication of what Obama’s up to. These czars are answerable only to the president, and will wield a lot of power. All the liberals signed on to the Iraq WMD story so they also believed it. Iraq actually attacked Iran in the past with chemical weapons so they definitely had them at one time. There were reports in Debka and other sources that the WMD that they had was moved to Syria.There are verified reports that have been largely ignored that there were actual WMDs found.
The phony Valerie Plame and her faker husband Wilson were outed by Armitage (a liberal) and not by Libby. It was Bush’s failure that he didn’t pardon Libby fully.
The only reason you are here and able to rant on this blog is because of the Patriot act. The Muslims already have the run of the country including the Pentagon (Stephen Coughlin fired by Hashem Islam). Just wait till Obama gets finished dismantling the Patriot act protections and destroying the CIA. May Hashem protect us from the evil that this is unleashing.
I believe Bush and Limbaugh were the cause of all our current problems because Bush wasn’t a Conservative and he hired cronies like Brown and Rush didn’t call him on almost anything. I don’t know if Beck said anything about this and if he didn’t it was a crime of omission and not commission. I am not saying that Beck is a tzadik or he doesn’t make mistakes but he is surely doing a great job pointing out the poison in the system currently.

Beck has been dead on the mark lately and never claimed to be anything other than opinion. The MSM claims to honest but is totally partisan. I am open minded and even believe a modicum of what the MSM presents. I don’t make blanket condemnations of people when it is obvious that they are right about so much. Anyone who blandly accepts the MSM as the gospel truth and especially when it comes to conservative spokesmen is really drinking the Kool Aid.

Glenn Beck…is correct most of the time, in pointing out the inconsistencies and lies, from the young administration. His only mistake so far is his analogies. Some people would better accept the comparison to “old school” Russia propaganda (rather than WWII Nazi), even though both forms relied on lies and mis-truths, and exaggerations (look at the article here a about the beetle !!!) .
