The mother, a member of the extreme Neturei Karta sect, was accused, among other things, of disconnecting her son’s feeding tube while he was hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

The woman’s arrest sparked a series of violent haredi riots in Jerusalem.

Demonstrators waved signs reading, “Hadassah has instigated a crusade against all Jewish mothers Haman-style of getting even with Mordechai.”

Rabbi Nahum Samson Meyer, head of the “True Torah Jews against Zionism” said prior to the rally, “Our hearts are pained over the Israeli government’s campaign to throw an innocent Jewish mother into prison in order to cover up for their hospital’s mistreatment of her son.”

The rabbi spoke as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in New York for the UN General Assembly session and a meeting with US President Barack Obama and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

“The United Nations has always taken up the cause of oppressed peoples around the world. We have come here to publicize the cry of our religious brethren who live under Zionist state oppression,” he said, referring to haredi claims of police violence during protests in Jerusalem against the mother’s arrest and the opening of the Karta parking lot on Shabbat.

“As Netanyahu tells the world his views on the Middle East crisis, we wish to make clear that his state, which presumptuously calls itself Israel, has no connection with the Torah or with Judaism,” Rabbi Meyer added.

“He and his fellow Israeli leaders have no right to speak in name of Jewry. Their long record of oppression and abuse of our community prove it. We call upon President Obama and all the esteemed leaders of the world not to recognize the Zionists as leaders of the Jewish people.”

Just when Ahmedinejad is coming to the UN to spout his rhetoric, and Obama is tilting the US away from supporting Israel, these minuvalim are joining against us. Of course, most Satmar people are not involved in this, but they must be forced to stop their brethren’s insanity.

Boycott Satmar! No milk, no cheeses, no taleisim, t’fillin form them until they force this nonsense to stop, or officially dissociate from the trash that does this!

Boycotting Satmar products is a good idea. And when you are offered these products, tell the storekeepers why you won’t buy them.

Notice how they take kids who should be in Yeshiva to protest. Is this more important than learning Torah? Is this Chinuch?

This has nothing to do with the official Satmar institutions, DER BLATT did not report or covered anything about this demonstration.

The Neturei Karta was founded when a small group of Satmarer went to the UN to protest against Israel in the late 60s. The first Satmer Rebbe Reb Yoel ZT”L put them into cherem and forbid them to ever enter any Satmar institution. The holy Rebbe said- JEWS SHOULD NOT FOLLOW THE ZIONIST IDEOLOGY BUT IF A NON JEW IS AGAINST ZIONISM HE IS AN ANTI SEMITE!.

The mother is NOT a member of Neturei Karta. Ynet and VIN is lying just to make her looking hated by the public like those anti-Zionist group.

She’s a member of a chassidic group but NOT Neturei Karta.

This mud slinging in the media can work both ways. How about the prosecutors release the tapes of the mother disconnecting her son on youtube, and while they are at it maybe a few videos from the Valas case and from the Burka mother case. Then they might throw in a few clips from the riots. that might level the playing field.

Strategically, I would have hushed up the story rather that publicized it. Most people at first glance would not sympathoze with the mother in this case, even if she would have been innocent. With all the bad press our community has gotten lately, our presumption of innocence is down the toilet.

the jewish prople, and I assume these people are Jewish, need real help. To protest against a hospital where a good portion of Chareidim give birth, go to when they are sick and have surgery when needed, is mindless and a real chilul hashem. Keep it up and maybe Hadasah will close. Great idea for all people. Let’s see where these ‘Jews’ will go for help next

The average age of paticipants in yesterdays “protest”, wasn’t above the minimum NYS drinking age.

Welcome to bein hazmanim in Williamsburg. In the past the bein hazmanim action was kept within the confines of Williamsburg – gal-paz, eiriv, artisten, fres truck, moishe gabeh etc.

Appears they had a really boring zman, hence the need for something really stimulating for bein hazmanim. Well, as long as it keeps them from drugs, violent crime and/or grubeh aveires, zulen zay teen voos zei villen.

You’re talking about a small minority, of a specific age group, of the smaller part of Satmar, which is in any case a minority – albeit a noisy one, of Shoimrey Torah U’Mitzves in the U.S. – forget about worldwide.

This doesn’t minimize the issue with the Yerushalmi mother. Any sane unbiased person who still has has a bone not yet filled with anti-chareidi jealousy/hatred, sees that somethings smells here. Listening to the hospitals version of the chain of events is enough to really raise some eyebrows. I don’t believe anyone familiar with the Israeli “justice” system – the last bastion of the leftist “elite”, expects them to produce unbiased, thoughtful justice.

The rebbe encouraged rallies against Israel when ever possible and the more vocal and public knowledge the better. They should be out there with signs against the Arab and Iranian leaders who are interested in destroying, demolishing, murdering and ransacking all Jews, holy places and shuls in eretz yisroel. The so called ‘starving mom’ and kehilla will be part of the bulldozed when Iranian missiles fly over head.

Do you hear who these hateful idiots are appealing to??? To the UNITED NATIONS!!

Who do you think the beasts in the UN hate more, the protesters or the people they’re protesting against?

It’s so sad seeing all these young boys and men indoctrinated to such hatred and taught to believe in conspiracy theories. They are so out of touch with reality that they think people at the U.N. or the average new yorker walking by will have a clue of what they are talking about on the signs about Haman and Mordechai.

    To #7 Lishma and to #27 :

Mr. Lishma you show your true bias and lack of Ahavas Yisroel. Stereotyping of the worst kind!
    #27 anon.:
You are right that this is happening 6,000 miles away, we as Yidden have to care for one another wherever we are physically, regardless of the distance that separates us!. Also, if the Israeli government wants to even to start approaching “Yosher,” and true justice, it should give the “mother of Chaim” the opportunity and financial means to defend herself fully and properly, no matter how long it might take, and no matter the cost to the Government, to get a fair chance of clearing herself. Short of that, it will be only a Kangaroo Court, and no real justice!

28: Most of us aren’t necessarily saying the mother doesn’t deserve to be defended. What we are saying is that its REPREHENSIBLE to` be doing this at a Jew hating place where they are looking for exactly this, to see us fighting within ourselves. They don’t care, frum or not frum, they just hate Jews and Israel!!!!!!!!!!!

“Rabbi Mayer is a very chushaver yungrman from Kruli Rosh hakuhol in Monsey”

This “Shabse Zvi” may convert to the Muslim religion and the run for Irans presidency. They have many many similar views. The Chareidim and palestinians are nebech similary Oppressed by the Zionists. They both use the welfare benefits of the democratic systems (in Israel and Here in Monroe/Satmar Medinah) and always crying that the are being deprived.

Rabbi Mayer – Remember Kosher Money is also important. Do no be 2 faced with your Allah ……
