That overriding issue — not President Barack Obama, health care or the economy — could cost Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine his job on Election Day.

The former Wall Street whiz is locked in a tight race with Republican Chris Christie, a corruption-busting former federal prosecutor.

Chris Daggett, a moderate independent in the race, has surprised the political establishment by becoming a factor — and maybe a spoiler — partly because of his plan to reduce property taxes by 25 percent.

Last year, the average bill for a homeowner was more than $7,000 — about twice the national average and 71 percent more than a decade earlier.

imagine this, plus Obamas tax increase, (should the health care bill pass).

Why is it that they punish the hard working Americans?
arent they (or we..) the ones who ‘stimulate’ the economy?

why are the discouraging us from investing, and being entrepreneurs?

We calculated that every $6,400 you pay in property taxes per year is the equivelant of approximately $100,000 in mortgage payments (assuming 30 year mtg. at 5-6% interest)—as per your monthly payments.

Thus you can buy a house in NJ for $400,000, and pay aprx. $9,400 / year in property taxes, and your monthly payments will be similar to buying a house in Brooklyn for $500,000, but only having $3,400 in annual property taxes.

Of course, in Brooklyn, you’re at least building equity.

I plan on firing Corzine on Election day. The only way to send a message is to go out and vote.
