The buses were pelted with stones, covered in paint, and their tires slashed.

Police suspect that the crimes were committed by haredim in protest over display of, in their opinion, indecent advertisements on the buses.

The police opened an investigation into the incident.

Stones and slashing tires is wrong but splashing paint on indecent pictures is a good and proper thing to do.

If suddenly some of the buildings owned by chareidi mosdos in meah shearim were vandalized with graffiti painted on them, maybe that would make those responsible think twice before vandalizing Eged buses.

What was Egged thinking, sending busses with inappropriate ads into a chareidi neighborhood?

What were the locals thinking, vandelizing property, isn’t that geneiva?

In a neighborhood where someone wearing a long denim skirt has bleach thrown on her, where benches have raspberry syrup poured on them to insure that people won’t sit down on them on Shabbos, I think the real question is “what do they consider indecent?”

I think buses should then stop going through Meah Sharim altogether. I they can’t handle state buses, they can drive their own cars, charter private buses, or walk. Vandalism must not be tolerated. They must go through legal channels to air grievances.

I often drive down Houston Street in NYC. There is a billboard on the Lafayette St corner that I feel is indecent. I have the right to boycott the advertiser, to send them e mails, to encourage others to boycott them. I do not have the right to vandalize their property. I certainly cannot vandalize the property of a third party, whom they are paying to carry their ads. I also wonder what these people consider to be indecent. You are dealing with people, who photo shop out women from the knesset pictures. Newspapers, which never portray women, no matter how modestly they dress. I received an invitation to a Yeshiva dinner which honors Mr and Mrs X, and Rabbi and Rebbitzen Y, but only the males’ pictures are shown. ( I’m sure these women are zihirot in all aspects of tzniut) When you act this way, you lose all credibility, even if you are (at least partially) right. The Rambam (ZL) tells us to take the middle path. By veering way off to the right, even the center is alienated.

If it’s alright to do this to buses because you don’t like what the advertisers say, then it should be alright to do the same thing to Chassidic synagoges and yeshivot if you disagree with what’s taught or said there.

If you think is right, but not the other you need to re-read some old guy named Hillel. He said something along the lines of “That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation; go and learn.”

Or repeat kindergarten where you should have learned that lesson.

I applaud our holy brothers in arms in meah shearim. They are on the front lines fighting G-ds battles day in and day out. I missed this news but I am still in Israel on a 3 week visit. I was present friday morning on rosh chodesh when 100 feminist conservative females carried a sefer torah in the rain to read at the kosel. Thank G-d the chareidim yelled them down and being that most of the females were Americans I addressed them in english and warned them that their behavior caused 6 million to die in gas chambers because of desecration by secular jews in europe. The women turned white like sheets after hearing how serious their mockery of G-d was by their actions and 2 regreted participating and broke out in tears and walked away from this evil gathering. Most intresting was that several soldiers with no yamulkas came over to me and told me they agree when I warned that G-d would take awaY THE KOTEL from Jewish control due to the actions of theses rebellious feminists. Next shabbos there will again be 2 rallies one at 1130 am at intel headquarters and the other at 3 pm at the edge of meah shearim going to the parking lot route on shivtei yisroel street. Be there if you are a
