New York – New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg struck a humble tone in his inauguration speech on the first day of his third term.

Mr. Bloomberg said he understands his third term is a “special opportunity.” And he promised to listen and lead in the next four years.
He was initially barred from running for a third term but got that law changed. Many voters weren’t happy about the way he did it. He won by a narrow margin.
Mr. Bloomberg also promised a management shake up like those he oversaw at his financial information company, Bloomberg LP.
He said deputy commissioners will work in other city agencies for three-week periods to generate fresh ideas.
“a humble term”
yes, that is our mayor …humble….
we are lucky to have a man like this….where else…
yidden…be happy
Just wait till all our charges and fees starts doubling we won’t know what hit us. Ye happy? For what?
Nice speech. Everyone had been emphasizing how uppity Bloomberg is and how he should become more humble.
Last month there were suggestions in NYC that he grow a stubble on his clean shaven face, take off his very expensive trademark black leather shoes and his tailored business suit and his fancy silk tie and come down off his upper class high horse.
There were calls for him to switch to casual clothes and a sloppier, less dapper look. I’m glad to see that he still has those nice shoes on and has not thrown away his razor.
He is not too uppity. His speech was a good one.
