Rockland County, NY – Town of Ramapo Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence sent a letter this week to all Democratic committee members, state legislators and local elected officials across New York to express his interest in seeking statewide office this fall.

St. Lawrence, a four-term supervisor and two-term county legislator, is “seriously considering” a run for lieutenant governor, according to a source familiar with his plans.

In the letter, which will also be widely distributed throughout the LOB and Capitol tomorrow when the political establishment descends on Albany for the governor’s State of the State address, St. Lawrence hits the high notes of property tax relief, change and an end to the dysfunction that has plagued state government.

“We need leaders who will reform Albany and breathe new life into New York,” St. Lawrence wrote. “People who can extricate the state from the financial crisis that has befallen us. People who will save taxpayer dollars by streamlining government and making it more efficient. People who will ameliorate the crushing property tax burden we face. People who will champion open and honest government and make it more accessible and accountable to the public.”

St. Lawrence has been working to get in the good graces of AG Andrew Cuomo, who is expected to announce a primary challenge to Gov. David Paterson any day now. Last month, the supervisor co-hosted a fundraiser for Cuomo that netted him $100,000.

One can only hope that the State Republican Party will support him just as the Ramapo Republican Party supported him for Supervisor this last run!

He’s just the man to send to Albany. His standards of honesty and fair governance will be a perfect fit and right at home in our state capitol.

Let the vetting process begin! Harvard-gate, policewoman-gate etc. he may be able to squeak this stuff past a real-estate-developer-driven small Monsey community, but it won’t fly on the State level. Sorry Mr. Supervisor, you will be sticking around Ramapo for a few more terms.

He clearly is delusional and has a distorted view of himself. G-d only knows why he exhibits such behavior. He has single handedly caused a rise in anti-semitism in this Town, of which I and other long time Ramapo residents have experienced. Regardless of the outcome his legacy in Ramapo will be one of destruction and incitefulness. In my opinion how could Cuomo consider someone that has so much “history” that could be potential baggage? Interestingly enough, if he does succeed he gets to pick his replacement. Could it be Mr. Karben? Just a thought. Sad.

Please read the comments from the local Rockland newspaper on Lohud. With any research by the Feds, he won’t be running in Albany. No one has caused as much anti Semitism as he has, ever. Many Rocklands didn’t even know what Chasids were before he got involved.

This clown stands no chance at statewide elective office. He is only electable in a sad town like Ramapo. Face it – he is ours, all ours
