Albany, NY. – State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says dozens of New York’s bridges are in worse shape than the Lake Champlain Bridge before the 80-year-old span was deemed unsafe in October and quickly demolished.

A report released Tuesday by DiNapoli says there are 93 bridges in use with a safety rating at or below that given to the Lake Champlain Bridge before it was closed in October because of severe erosion in its concrete piers.
The bridge linking New York and Vermont was brought down by controlled explosions on Dec. 28.
The report said 3 of New York’s major bridges – the Tappan Zee in New York City’s northern suburbs, the Peace Bridge in Buffalo, and the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge – are in urgent need of improvements.
Isn’t that the best way to use simutlous funds ro build and repair infrastructure.
Are there really 93 bridges in new York?
I would love to give my comment regarding the Bridges Period.According to my theory I feel that when something is being build in New York & possible in other cities,
that when they build a bridge, it is build right away with problems. Meaning that in a few years there are already problems, that you have to construct & fix . That’s no matter if it’s a Bridge or even Highways, & yet better Streets . Before you turn around after we see something is build up ,BOOM you see a SIGN saying { USE THIS EXIT PLACE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION . This is not a joke that whenever you see something being build you know, it will not take long & you will see PLACE is under CONSTRUCTION . Lets take the NY 17 ( RT.86 ) I still remember when they started building the NY 17 & not only that THe NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY . Now whenever you drive on it there are problems. True i admit at those years going back to the 1950s , we did not have so many drivers as we have today . But it’s a big problem that we have .

there has been continuous construction on the tappan zee bridge every night for years. and it’s still not safe? that said, the bridge is less than 60 years old. There are other things I consider a lot more dangerous. Like the man in the whitehouse.
But to take $8 tole thay would not forget
