The Gillibrand campaign says David Plouffe will be the featured speaker at a Feb. 22 breakfast fundraiser at a New York City law firm.

Plouffe was recently tapped by the president to help keep tabs on 2010 midterm races. His planned appearance at the $250-a-ticket fundraiser is further evidence of White House support as Gillibrand seeks election to the Senate seat she has held for a year.

Ford, a former Tennessee congressman, has been meeting with voters and Democratic leaders across the state as he flirts with a possible primary challenge.

As a New Yorker now living in TN, I can tell you that Ford Jr. is very close to some very good frum families & has always been a good friend to Israel. He is a “moderate” on social issues & is worthy of the Jewish community’s support. He comes from a family of political crooks but he seems to be okay.

Of course the socialist white house will support a true socialist like Gillenbrand rather than a moderate socialist like Ford

Tell ford to go back to tenn. He lost there and will lose in NY as well if he runs , while gillebrand may not be the best she is a NY while he has no clue what NY is all about , just an oppoturnist and has hooked up already with the wrong crowd

I don’t live in NY so it makes no difference to me at all. But why does the white house stab themselves in the back time after time? Obama tried to back candidates in three major elections recently, (VA, NJ, and MA) and each time the candidate lost. Why not just stay neutral and let whoever win, instead of showing the world how little your opinion makes to the people who put you in power?! Obviosly, the current adminstration is not so liked so just keep your mouth shut!

We used to say as kids, “Better to keep your mouth shut and let people think that you’re stupid, than to open it and prove it!”

Ford is not like hillary. hillary took the time – a long time to visit every single town, county and city in the state and “listen” to the people. this elitist snob ford thinks he can just waltz into the city on his helicopter and take over? heck no.

If Obama supports Gillibrand, that means that any intelligent person, particularly if you care about Israel, should support Ford.
