Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (OO’-mahr fah-ROOK’ ahb-DOOL’-moo-TAH’-lahb) has been cooperating with the FBI. He has provided information about Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S.-born cleric who has emerged as a prominent al-Qaida recruiter. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the ongoing investigation.

Abdulmutallab’s cooperation against al-Awlaki could provide fresh clues for authorities trying to capture or kill him in the remote mountains of Yemen. Al-Awlaki has been linked to the 9/11 hijackers, the Fort Hood shootings and the botched Christmas Day bombing attempt.

Let’s send this imam a postcard with the exact time and place that we’re going to bomb him…

Who says it is true? Could be that the FBI is just saying that Abdulmutallab flipped on the cleric to get the cleric to move from where he is hiding that we have no idea to someplace else, so that hopefully in his panic he’ll make a mistake.

They release this information because they want him to panic and move. When moving he’s more likely to mess up and expose himself.

Will Yemen issue an arrest warrant for Obama as did Dubai for Netanyahu?

No. Unfortunately, it’s far more likely that they released this information because they’re trying to cover their backsides after the debacle when they mirandized him and he immediately took their advice and stopped talking. They’re trying to pretend that it’s all OK, because now he’s talking again; they’re not telling us what deal they made to achieve this, nor how much more useful his information would have been a month ago, before his confederates knew he had been captured.
