He also encouraged President Barack Obama’s White House to take a more balanced position in its relations with Israel.

“There’s no doubt that in general the United States government has been much more attuned to the sensitivities of the Israelis and has yielded excessively to the circumstances in the Holy Land as Israel has confiscated several lands within Palestine,” Carter said at the opening of a two-day conference on US-Arab relations.

He added: “I hope that in the future we’ll see the United States taking a much more balanced position and doing everything possible to implement a two-state solution” that establishes an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders.

The remarks come as Washington has expressed rare public outrage over Israel’s plans to build new Jewish homes in a traditionally Arab part of Jerusalem. The diplomatic row threatens to derail Obama’s latest push for a long-sought peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians to end a conflict that has fueled anti-American sentiment in the region.

This fool does not understand that, policy aside, israel and the US have huge military projects together, its stupid to say that they should not be attuned to their sensitivities,

Whether we agree or not, there is a huge backlash starting all over America over Israel’s actions. Many perceive it as Israel walking all over America, and I don’t think it’ll end well. People on this site can continue yelling about how Israel can do whatever it wants, but that will lead to disaster. But then again, the frum community never had a reputation for thinking rationally…. so carry on.

The donkey has brayed again. As one of the worst presidents in our memory, he needs to shut up and stay busy with peanuts. He was never knowledgeable about foreign affairs. The noise he has made over the last several years has proven that some severely incompetent people can end up in pretty high places. He is beyond feeling embarrassed at making such statements.

Former President Carter was always recognized as an anti semite, his comments and efforts have always hurt Isreal’s position.

Of course failing to recognize (a) “What caused Israel to confiscate land from the Arab Republic”; (b) Who started the war in 1967; and (c) Who wants to destroy whom.

Carter’s position with Iran is against the interest of the US. He should be arrested and charged for treason.

Is anyone surprised that this old demented fool is talking like this. He could be elected president of the Anti-Semites Society and he of course feels right at home with the current occupant of the While House, Hussein Obama. Peanut Jimmy just go back to the rat hole you came out of hopefully never to be heard from again.

I follow the Satmar shitta for all practical purposes, though I am not Satmar. That means I consider the medine an error and not worthy of anything but davening that it is replaced with malchis beis Dovid ASAP!

But this Jimmy yemach shmoi is just an Arab funded anti-Semite and it is high time he meets the same end as Homon (or better yet Arafat yemach shmoi who died of AIDS and a few other zisse infections).

Until the late ’70’s, our best ally in the Middle East (aside from Israel) , was Iran. The peanut farmer destroyed the Shah, and turned Iran into an implacable enemy of the US. Now the genius, who is even more ibber buttil, is braying once more. May he be a kappara for all Yiddin!

“I hope that in the future we’ll see the United States taking a much more balanced position and doing everything possible to implement a two-state solution”

Somehow, I fail to see the virtue inherent in striking a “balanced” position between a democracy and a terrorist state.

Putting aside my own religion and political bend – I want to look at this completely objectively. I still cannot see how anybody could be on the Arabs’ side.

I think I read that Jimmy Carter has been helping Hamas use Gilad Shalit as a negotiation tool. Doesn’t that make him a terrorist collaborator by the U.S. definition? Can’t he get in trouble for that? Or are former presidents somehow immune?

His brother, the late beer-guzzling Billy, possessed a virtue that Jimmy Carter never had: He was more ingenuous about his anti-Semitism, when he said about Jews, “There’s more Arabs than Jews, so why the hell do we have to worry about the Jews for? “
