Washington – The Obama administration has encouraged “resistance” by Palestinians to protest Israel’s presence in eastern Jerusalem, a senior Palestinian Authority official claimed to WND.

The senior PA official, speaking from Ramallah on condition of anonymity, said that in recent meetings with U.S. envoys to the region, the American diplomats supported and encouraged the concept of Palestinian protests to pressure Israel into evacuating eastern sections of Jerusalem.
The PA official’s claim follows a meeting in Jordan last week between PA President Mahmoud Abbas and George Mitchell, Obama’s envoy to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. At a press conference immediately following the meeting, Abbas declared the Palestinian “right” to “resistance” against Israel.
The U.S. has come down hard on a decision by the Jerusalem municipality to approve 1,600 new homes in Ramat Shlomo, an already-existing Jewish community in eastern Jerusalem. The decision was made public during Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to the region earlier this month.
no surprise here. meanwhile, jews are tripping over themselves because the messiah held a seder.
If George Mitchell was the messenger you can be sure this story is 100% bogus. There is no way George Mitchell told them to put up a resistance. While he may be a peacenik, he takes a very hard line against violence. But, I’m sure some dumb people will believe the story. Not even Obama would have said THAT.

Unless Obama comes out with a statement about what he will do if the Palestinians carry this out, it can be assumed to be true. A denial would not be good enough.

While Pres. Obama has been led by the lying conniving Sec of State Clinton (who assured NYorkers that “jerusalem must stay United! when she ran for NY senate!) I do not believe the President would promote violence he knows the Palestinians only protest violently as all Islamic protests have been.

The reality is probably this. It is extremely unlikely that American diplomats affirmatively encouraged “resistance.” What is more likely is that they expressed support for the Arab position. The Arabs took that as encouraging “resistance.” This is precisely what happens when you support the aggressors (the Arabs) against the defenders. It is appeasement. And it only encourages the aggressors. This is precisely why the Obama Middle East policy is idiotic.
Before Obama announced his “settlements” policy, the Arabs did not use this as an excuse for not negotiating. Once Obama started in on settlements, the Arabs said no negotations while settlements were expanding. Then, Obama announced no “settlements” in Jerusalem. The Arabs picked up that line too. The fact is that Obama’s Middle East policy has set peace talks back for years. History shows that an appeasement policy always has this effect. This idiotic policy will hurt peace prospects severely.

It’s good you qualified who the aggressors are because someone might have thought that as you sit on Palestinian land with no intention to return it unless forced, you are clearly the aggressor.

The Palestinians are now emboldened. Looking back in hindsight, what did we get for Oslo, the return of Gaza, allowing Palesitinans back into the West Bank? A huge kick in the teeth. We shuld have killed Arafat in Lebanon instead of allowing him to regroup in Tunisia. I only hope we dont regret returning the Sinai one day….
