Iowa – At Official Sentencing Sholom Rubashkin Says Court Verdict Shows Wickedness Of These People

    121

Iowa – Former Agriprocessors vice president Sholom Rubashkin remained calm during his sentencing today in U.S. District Court but before the judge came in he said this hearing will “show the wickedness of these people.”

Rubashkin, 50, of Postville, sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for bank fraud and other charges, waved at two rows of friends and family in the courtroom as he came in wearing an orange jail jumpsuit with his hands cuffed and arms chained.

“Why is she crying?” Rubashkin asked someone in the gallery. “You should be crying? They should be crying for what they are doing.”

A few minutes later, a woman in the gallery said loud enough for the U.S. Marshals who were sitting near Rubashkin to hear – “She’s competing with Dracula.”

No other outbursts were heard during the sentencing.

Rubashkin’s wife Leah and her children were quiet during the hearing.

Chief Judge Linda Reade didn’t make any statements during the hearing beyond going over the details of the sentencing.

As in her order filed Monday, Reade ordered Rubashkin to pay more than $26 million in restitution to two banks and one livestock supplier who are identified as victims in the bank fraud case. She said restitution is due immediately and if it’s not paid Rubashkin would have to pay it in monthly increments while in prison.

No additional fine was imposed but a special assessment fee was ordered for $8,600, which was paid in full by Rubashkin June 17.

Guy Cook, Rubashkin’s attorney, requested that Reade grant bail for Rubashkin pending his appeal but the government objected to it and Reade denied the request.

However, Reade did say she would make a general request to the Bureau of Prisons to have Rubashkin transferred to a prison that would “best accommodate his religion.”

Cook had asked that Reade request a prison in Otisville N.Y. or Fort Dix, New Jersey. Both prisons could accommodate his religious requirements.

Rubashkin, 51, of Postville, was convicted by a jury in November of 86 federal counts of bank, mail and wire fraud, money laundering and failure to pay livestock providers in a timely manner. The charges stem from the May 2008 immigration raid at the Agriprocessors meatpacking plant in Postville where more than 400 illegal workers were arrested.

It is time for jews to take responsibility for their actions and sins. Let this one be a crystal clear example of what will happen to idiots – especially (religious) ‘jews’… His sentence will be much longer in the next world of which he does not have a portion in Olam Habah.

This opens the way for an (successful) appeal , BE”H. So much for helping revive economically a region that was wilting away. This, (including the performance of this anti-Semitic beast hiding behind the cloak of a Federal Judge and Federal Court.) is what the Rubashkin family got paid back for moving out to that backwater and practically rebuilding the economy of the entire region. The hundreds of workers and their families. And the merchants they supported. Their hatred for a Jew or Jews in general was so deep seated, that they literally “Cut off their Nose to Spite their Face”.
If the new investor sees “The Handwriting on the Wall”, he and his group should abandon the entire enterprise and start out someplace else, more deserving. Let this entire region, those who participated (including that out-of-shape beast, who calls himself a “Man of the Cloth” and all those that stood silent –and did not come to the aid of MR. Rubashkin & his family– wilt away economically & otherwise. For they deserve no better. What they really deserve, is the fate of those 2 infamous Biblical cities that were destroyed by the hand of G-D.

If they do answer to the executive branch or not is debatable but they definitely do answer to the witch hunt created in the media orchestrated by the cursed PETA, Unions and the Conservative Jewry.

Rubashkin absolutely personally profited from his crimes. The jury never found otherwise. Uncontroverted evidence at trial showed that, during just the two years immediately preceding May 2008, Rubashkin funneled about $1.5 million from Agriprocessors’ accounts to his personal bank accounts. Hundreds of thousands of those dollars paid his personal credit card bills, remodeled his home, paid his taxes, paid his personal mortgage, bought jewelry and silver, and made his car payments.

No wonder moshiach laughs at all of you.

I would also imagine that these irresponsible comments will hurt his appeal as they indicate that he still doesn’t get it.

(reply to #13 ) no one is saying that he didn’t break the law, and should pay for his crime. The protests are that he should get the same punishment as in similar cases.

He breaks the law, defrauds people and he calls the judge wicked. That’s as perverted a view of justice as you’ll ever find.

I believe the good that #4 is referring to is all the good that Shalom Mordechai Rubashkin did for his fellow Jews, such as making a Yid’s life easier by giving him tzedaka. I’m so glad I can reply to your question so that you will be more knowledgeable in the good deeds that Shalom Mordechai does, because that must be why you asked your question, right? Because you simply didn’t know?

I just can’t understand why in the world he was sentenced for so many years and other real dangerous cold blood murderers etc. are getting much less, this is totally against the 8th amendment of the constitution, that every american is entitled for a fair and speedy trial and protection against excessive bail, excessive fines, and cruel and unusual punishment. Should god keep us safe!

The craziness is that the hole raid was because of the so called underage workers. But they knew they botched up there so they figured the would hang everything on a small peg.

Does anyone remember Lemrik Nelson? He murdered Yankel Rosenbaum. Do you remember the police who murdered Gidoen basch execution style? Do you remember El Sayyid Nosair? He murdered Mier Kahana. What happened to those killers? F R E E!! Rubashkin committed (I am not convinced) a white collar crime, and he and his entire family are sentenced to a life of living hell!! Jonathan Pollard is sentenced to the longest sentence ever for type of crime he did. WHY?? There is only one reason, they all have one thing in common; being JEWISH, and that could not go unpunished. JEWISH BLOOD IS FREE, only nowadays its done through modern day progroms.

    To this self-hating jew:

What if your close relative would of been in the same saga as R’ Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin. Comments are unnecesery. One thing I can tell you: because of people like you are we still in golus, SHAME ON YOU — you should be ashamed of yourself.

Let’s cool it. We need to act on two fronts. Number 1: even if the judge is wrong (which I think she is) we have to realize that this is the world we live in, and we need to conform in being extra careful so not to fall in to such a a trap as SMR. This includes educating ourselves about the law and about the crazy sentencing rules one may be subjected to for a white collar crime. Second we need to organize a mass rally in Washington DC to show our outrage and support the appeal process. Given the past siyum hashas numbers, I think we should be able to gather 100,000 people.

So you are the poisek here. U.S. law is now part of the commandments of the Torah, and if transgressed, is punishable by “ein lo chelek loilem haba”. Don’t tell me about chillul hashem, because the fact that he wears a chasidisha levush, makes him a target, and there is nothing he can do about that. He had a normal business operation like everyone else in the United States of Socialist America, and happened to be the korben of overly aggressive prosecutors , venomous politicians, a anti-Semitic Christian church in Postville, and the ultra liberal PETA vagaboonden, who found and easy target: a Hasidic Jew.

I really do pity you, because you have become infected with Stockholm syndrome, and are willing to blame yourself, and all of the frum community, for sins that they have not committed. Take off the blindfolds and you’ll discover the beauty of the Am Yisroel; they are a million times better than any goy you will ever meet.

The worst thing is,, when supposedly yiddishe people could say when a yid is being locked up for SO MANY years – that he deserves it- Listen up ,, no one is saying that SMR is totally innocent , nobody is condoning wrongdoing yes yidden should learn not to do shady business. But to say that this is a just and fair sentence , is the hight of rishes, obnoxious, anti-semetic,selfish ,rude, blatant hate. From the beginning of times , yidden lieder were caught, justifiably or by means of blood libels, and what did tzadikim do for them ? Even if the yid WAS A BIG THIEF! But some folks here on the blogs just rub it in. If you believe in hashem. He has a chesbon for all of you!.

wow…you can totally see peoples personalities here- some are so heartless, cold, and see the world in the box that others paint. while others have the open-mindedness and perception, and feeling for a fellow human in pain to realize this was an anti-semitic scheme, that we don’t know why G-d is doing, but will do everything we can to help. Hey, those of you on the wrong side of the fence who enjoy other’s downfall should take a long hard look at yourselves and ask: who am I ? Where should I be…? How low have I fallen…?

All that evidence would never wash in a bais din. So WHO convicted smr… Afew reshoim. And sadly a few self hating jews who ought to be spewed out of klal yisroel for those horrible heartless comments they post. I wonder how they have the nerve to stand before Hashem and ask of Him to grant them Bunai Chayai umezonai. Uggghhh!!!

Fraud is fraud. We can pick up a Kitzur S”O to read what is says about taking monetary advantage etc of a fellow Jew. I feel terrible for his family and feel terrible that he will suffer prison life style. But maybe this is Hashem showing how grave it is for a Jew, who should be a light amongst the nations, to not sin. 🙁 His family would have a father to look to if he hadn’t had taken advantage of other humans. That poor family…

Boruch Hashem there are 10s of thousands of yidden worldwide who are willing to donate time, money and the their presence at protests to suport a yid going through tzores.

These same 10s of thousands don’t have time for bickering on an internet blog, they just do what their soul tells them to do.

They don’t care much about guilt, picking on individuals to prove wider complaints, they see a yid beztar.

Across the generations there have always been letzonim who don’t feel part of the klal or have complaints against the klal, the generation of the internet are the same. Fortuantly, now, like then they are a minority – long may they remain so. The thousands in Brooklyn who turned up in person, the thousands in Europe weeping over their keyboards, and the thousands who called up and donated – they are the obvious majority.

Please don’t give the small numbered, small minded and small spirited more of a voice.

Peons, Rubashkin used stolen money to pay the loan down that was stolen to begin with! You all have your head buried in the cholent. He faked invoices and borrowed against them. He borrowed against real invoices that were already paid by the buyer. Defend the man, not what he did. He pulled shtick and got caught. He is a thief – a Robin Hood maybe – but a thief. Read Rav Schwab on this inyan he is crystal clear. A yid MUST run gis business like the Chofetz Chayim did, not like john gotti.
You all sound like simple minded buffoons to the world.
