The safer they make these bike lanes, the more likley it is that they will be used by the heimeshe community and not just those beloved “bikers”. It is hard to convince many yidden to ride a bike to work, shopping, shul or mikvah when there are cars zipping in and out of the bike lanes. With these new barriers, more heimeshe women will feel safer to take their children with them by bike than driving the minivan for short trips.
