The law takes effect in October.
The cribs have been linked to multiple child deaths and injuries, and more than nine million have been recalled nationwide.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission recently voted in favor of proposing new mandatory standards for cribs, including a federal ban on drop-side cribs.
It’s only the newer cribs which are made shoddily that seem to have this problem. I had quite a few cribs which were sturdily built and quite a few bouncy babies and my cribs were as safe as can be. They had heavy metal brackets and strong spring frames etc. Now everything is made with plastic and of course it’s going to break.
Now when are the politicians going to make something legal
and what are we short folk to do with our kids? they have a crib with a side that folds out partly, but it’s way expensive. please note that in the picture above the drop side is installed upside down. cribs that are used properly are not dangerous. yeesh.
