Washington – US Vice President Joe Biden is to welcome Nobel laureate and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel Tuesday, the White House announced.

“At 12:00 pm (1600 GMT), the vice president will have lunch with Elie Wiesel,” the White House said.
No other details of their agenda or the reasons for the visit were released.
Wiesel, an ardent supporter of Israel, met with President Barack Obama on May 4 amid deteriorating relations between the US and Israel over the issue of expanding Jewish settlements in annexed East Jerusalem.
The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize had later told reporters tensions between the two allies was “gone.”
