Washington – The US warned Lebanon that if it did not prevent any recurrence of the border-fire incident that occurred earlier this month, the IDF would destroy the Lebanese Armed Forces within four hours, Israel Radio cited a report by Lebanese newspaper A-Liwaa on Friday.

According to the report, Frederick Hoff, assistant to US Middle East Peace Envoy George Mitchell, told Lebanese Army chief of staff Jean Kahwaji that Israel was ready to implement a plan to destroy within four hours all Lebanese military infrastructure, including army bases and offices, should a similar confrontation occur in the future.
The IDF had informed the UNIFIL peacekeeping force along the border ahead of time of the intended tree-clearing operation.
UNIFIL later confirmed that the IDF troops were on the Israeli side of the border when the incident occurred, contradicting LAF claims that Lebanese sniper fire directed at the Israeli troops had been justified by an incursion upon Lebanese territory.
I want to hear the USA talk this way, tell the same words to the Iranians.
as long as this leftist self hating pathetic coward Ehud Barak is defence minister,no one will take Israel seriously, under this traitors leadership the IDF has become a joke, and the whole world is laughing at it.
Citizens of Israel ,get rid of this abomination or you will find yourself without a country
Yes and then Israel will have a storm of rockets for six months…
#1 ,
Destroying the Iranian army won’t take four days; it might take four years. It would require reinstitution of the military draft in the US along with a massive tax increase. Do you support that?
#2 Once again a self style oiber-chachan shows his true worth. I take it you were next to Barak when he flew into Lebanon. I take it you too fought in wars to defend Israel. We can disagree with someone’s politics without calling people traitors. I only can hope that your rant came from Israel rather than Brooklyn.
Iraq was supposed to be a quick war.
Iran has a huge military, which is well equipped. The terrain is quite mountanous, easily defended, and not the kind of terrain that US forces are most easily able to take and hold. The US military is currently stretched to its limits of both manpower and equipment; large amounts of additional manpower can only be obtained by a draft and it will take some time to ramp up production of armaments and munitions. We have been in Afghanistan for nine years and still have not defeated the Taliban; Iran has a far stronger military and the mullahs still have a lot of popular support, particularly in rural areas. And these costs will require a massive tax increase.
The reckless commenters here who will fight to the last young American should themselves volunteer for service. (As should the despicable person who called Ehud Barak a coward.)
