Hudson Vally, NY – Authorities say they’ve charged three young men with committing a hate crime for spray painting a racial slur on a wall at a Hudson Valley mosque.

Police in the city of Hudson say Christopher Osborn and Roy Francis, both 20, and 19-year-old James Glover III, were arrested Thursday. The men, all from Hudson, were charged with aggravated harassment, conspiracy, making graffiti, and criminal mischief, which is the hate crime aspect of the charges.
Authorities say the men painted the racial slur on the back wall of the Hudson Islamic Center just after midnight Wednesday.
Osborn and Glover have pleaded not guilty and were sent to the Columbia County Jail. Francis was being held in jail pending his arraignment Friday afternoon.
It couldn’t immediately be determined if they had lawyers.
Good. These crimes are heading in dangerous directions. Arson, bombings, knifing. If the police don’t shut it down hard we will see shootings and mob attacks before too long. And yes, I know Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Iran are bad. If that’s the standard we judge ourselves by we might as well give up on this whole “America” thing.

#2 – I absolutely do. Hatred, oppression and violence are wrong no matter who the target is. It’s not just a moral issue. When they are indulged they will inevitably be directed against all Jews. And the antisemites won’t care if we’re Charedi or Reform. Defend everyone’s rights or watch as yours are taken away.
The flavor of hate today are the Muslims…..just a diversion by the regular Jew haters. To condone attacks on any house of worship is just plain wrong and I hope these three fools are prosecuted to the fullest extent that the law allows. The Jew haters don’t know or want to know the difference between any branch of of the Jewish religion.

Well said. In fact, we’ve already seen this week that this is a temporary diversion for Jew haters as the so-called pastor who wanted to burn Korans had previously endorsed the Westboro so-called Baptist Church in its “God Hates Israel” protests.
The surprising thing is that so many supposedly frum Jews have become so assimilated that they don’t realize this. America is still Medinah Shel Chesed but there really are some dangerous haters here.
