Bloomingdale’s has become the latest Manhattan store hit by the bedbug epidemic — although it tried to down play the problem by saying only one bedbug was found and that it was promptly “removed.”
“We took immediate action, and it was assessed that the issue was not widespread,” said spokeswoman Marissa Vitagliamo.
Despite the finding, Bloomie’s was never closed down, as was the Midtown Niketown when bugs were spotted there earlier this month. Other infestations have been reported at Victoria’s Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch.
“This is disgusting — I’m itching all over right now,” said a customer, Goldy Tenreiro, 16, of the Upper East Side. “I can’t believe they finally made it to Bloomingdale’s.”
YUK!
I wonder if these bedbugs aren’t being placed in the stores by people who just want to cause havoc in the city
Another reason I’m glad I don’t shop there lol
hmmm, no word of walmart having bedbugs.
guess the bugs are label lovers
There are alot of large hotel chaines thatare experiencing a bedbug epidemic. There several products that are currently in the EPA approval line up. We will just have to wait and see.
There is no reason a facility get bed bugd other then a worker or a customer caried them into the building. Once they feed they can live a year with out feeding again. That is what makes the so hard to get rid of.
There going to bring back another version DDT
