Not only has Paterson included legislation re-naming the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel after former Gov. Hugh Carey on the agenda for Monday’s special legislative session, he’d also like to re-name the Hudson River Park on Manhattan’s West Side for former Gov. Pataki.
“I was wondering if I could fulfill that before I leave,” Paterson said on WOR’s “The John Gambling Show.”
As for Carey, Paterson described him as a personal hero.
“He was the last governor to really fight a fiscal crisis, which he described as one quarter of the size of this one and he’s kind of e hero to me and I think a great leader,” Paterson said.
if they dont have a park for rudi, they dont need one for pataki
It doesn’t seem right to name parks, bridges or tunnels after living people, especially ones who might seek future elective office. Certainly there are other things that the lame duck Governor can do in his remaining days in office.
why not rename while a person is alive if the person deserves it
