Bloomington, IN – Police are investigating whether hatred might have driven someone to throw rocks through windows at two Jewish student centers near Indiana University’s Bloomington campus.

The vandalism occurred just days before Hanukkah, which leads Jewish leaders to suspect the centers were targeted on the basis of religion. WRTV reports someone threw a rock through the back window of the Chabad House during the day last Tuesday. On Saturday, a rock was thrown through a kitchen window at the Helene G. Simon Hillel Center. Hillel Center Rabbi Sue Silberberg tells The Herald-Times she believes both incidents were acts of hatred.

Another rabbit says Chabad House plans to use the rock that was thrown there in a 12-foot-menorah that will be on display during Hanukkah, which begins Wednesday.

“…Police are investigating whether hatred might have driven someone to throw rocks through windows…”

Don’t be silly. It was an expression of love and tolerance.

From the most love and tolerating religion in the world. Rav Avigdor Miller talked about the religions of love; oh oh how much they loved the Jews; so much they loved them to death throughout Europe and the Middle East

About 15 years ago, a rock was thrown through the window of a Jewish home in Billings, Montana, where a Chanukah Menorah was on display. Although Billings is the largest city in Montana, the Jewish community is very small. In protest, hundreds of gentiles prominently displayed Menorahs in the windows of their homes. The rock throwers didn’t know which homes were Jewish, and which weren’t, and the rock throwing ceased. There was a tv movie, which showed exactly what happened.
