Nahad Hamid, a resident of the northern Gaza community of Beit Hanoun, was convicted on multiple counts of attempted murder, attempting to harm the security of the state, aiding and belonging to a terrorist organization and other charges as well.

Hamid was involved in launching Kassam rockets and mortar attacks on the Gaza Belt community of Sderot and the Erez Crossing between the region and the rest of Israel.

Gaza terrorists fired three mortar shells Sunday night and a short-range Kassam rocket Monday morning at southern Israel. No one was injured and no damage was reported.

The attacks belied a prior announcement by the Hamas terrorist rulers of Gaza that it would impose a “ceasefire” on all terror organizations in the region.
