Israel – Minister of Housing and Construction Ariel Atias agreed on a new plan with senior executives of the Association of Contractors and Builders in Israel to employ haredi (ultra orthodox) yeshiva students in the construction industry, “Yediot Ahronot” reports. The yeshiva students would earn a monthly salary of NIS 15,000.

The plan is meant to provide a partial solution to the shortage of manpower in the construction industry.
Atias told Yediot Ahronot, “I envisage a response from hundreds of yeshiva students who will be able to support themselves with dignity. There are already ultra orthodox people working in industrialized building. We will approach mayors and mobilize the ultra orthodox to work.”

15,000 shekels per mo equals $4,155 based on current exchange rate. $50k per year for a fresh faced yeshiva student is not a bad deal at all.
I am ready! But do not have me serve in the army in order to get the job! The army is a very dangerous place b’ruchnius!
How will they get a good shidduch? it sounds like real work.
These figures don’t make sense. A proffesional computer programmer (with a degree) only makes 8,000-10,000 shekel a month. The average construction worker makes 5,420 shekel a month. Likewise to be an Egged Bus driver, one make 5,690 shekel per month. These facts are based on Israel’s average salary data. There must be something wrong with the numbers posted on VIN. Please update this with accurate information.

I don’t believe it. They are going to pay $4155 a month. Most people only make $1000 a month. I have children in Eretz Yisrael and one is getting “good pay” of
$3200 a month after working there 12 years
A wonderful opportunity.
Ihope the figures are correct
it must be they meant 15000 per year
