Rick Tyler said Gingrich will make the announcement by Facebook and Twitter. He will give an interview to Fox News later that night.

Gingrich will offer his first speech as a presidential candidate at the Georgia Republican Party Convention on Friday.

Gingrich has made no secret of his White House ambitions. He’s been raising money and assembling a campaign team for months.

Getting into the race marks a comeback attempt by the former Georgia congressman who stepped down from the House in 1998 after four tumultuous years as speaker. He had led the GOP to their first majority in the House in 40 years.

He will join a growing crowd of marginal players whose ego drives them to run for President. Once the media focus on how prior adultery and how he pushed his ex- wife to sign divorce papers in the hospital while she was being treated for cancer, his “born-again” social values agenda will be trashed. What was even funnier was his recent appearence on Pat Robertson’s show where he blamed his “love of country” and the stress of a leadership position in Congress for committing adultery and abandoning his family. How pathethic. He makes Palin and Trump look good.

Another loser to distract from the real issues. We’ll have months of stories about his personal failures more than anything else. This guy is the scum of the earth. While his wife was being treated for cancer, he decided to not only inform her that he has been having a long-term affair with a younger woman, but that he also wanted a divorce. Could you imagine? You can’t even wait until your wife is done with chemotherapy before you kick her out of the house?

This guy is as likely as Palin or Trump to win the Presidency, and only serves to distract from the REAL solutions that could be presented by REAL Conservatives.

With people like Trump and Gingrich in the race, Obama’s win becomes more and more certain.

There is STILL not a single, genuine Conservative in this race. How embarrassing is that? Can we only find morally corrupt politicians who have been absolute failures in their previous roles or clowns who are really only interested in being on television? Is that it? If so, David Frum was right. The propaganda and lying on TV and radio has destroyed any chance of a Conservative being elected. How sad.

This Newt has about as much chance of winning as my son’s pet Newt Dino.

I really do not anticipate that a Gingrich campaign can win the presidency. That said, I am glad to hear that he has chosen to run for the following reasons:
1. He has been wanting to run for a while. So give him his due.
2. He can discuss the concerns of the Political Right if that may be necessary on a nationwide state. This is not a bad thing whether you are a Democrat or Republican. His reasoning and concerns can help build a stronger America or if they are unorthodox, they can build a stronger opposition or a stonger opposing viewpoint as they will be a place for true debate.
So like it or not, this will be good for our nation.
I do not anticipate that Mr. Obama with his successes will be replaced so quickly, but all that Mr. Gingrich does speak of can be a stone that we can turn over and over and decide if it stays or goes. Make sense?

I can’t wait to watch Gingrich, Trump, Giuliani, and Palin rip each other to shreds. It makes sense that someone who wants to be the President of the US is naturally going to be ego-driven (it’s got to take a lot of hubris to believe you’re better than anyone else to lead a country) but these 4 have egos that are bombastic.

What a sorry field of candidates. The three men have some accomplishments but have serious moral issues in their personal lives and Palin is an attravtive candidate with no substance. The field that ran at Churchill Downs on Shabbos was much more impressive.

Every candidate has an ego and every candidate is human. The question is will the candidate be good for Israel and for Torah values. Every President hopefully wants the economy to do well so thats a matter of spending philosophy.
The current president is unpredictable when it comes to anything, and another four years without risk of losing another may open up his real personality – and I would rather not find out what he really wants to do.
Go Newt.

To # 1,2,3

You phoney bleeding heart liberals!. Two faced democrats and moral hypocrites!

Where was your indignation when John Edwardsran for president in 2008?.

As lowly as Mr Gingrich is he was never so low as Edwards.

Your selective morality is equally repugnant!

My comment specifically stated that presidents are human. I’m sure there are many things one has done wrong and doesn’t want his kids to do. Newt may have committed infidelity, but he doesn’t preach having affairs. Human yes, values yes, wrong yes.

And Hillary swore prior to Bill’s scandolous presidential lying affair, that she wasn’t the Loretta Lynn type of person to “stand by her man” yet she became secretary to Obama! Bill was almost the 1st gentleman in the WH, what a symbol for the history books that would be! You choose which mud to sling and at whom, I merely show you how extremely filthy your pigpen is!

Bill Clinton was a decent president despite his infidelity. Newt will be better despite his.
