Buenos Aires – The headmaster of an important Jewish orthodox school was violently attacked as he was leaving the Heijal Hatorá School, a dependency of the Jafetz Jaim Yeshiva educational institution, run by rabbi Samuel Levin in the city neighbourhood of Once.

The attack took place on the day in which the Jewish community celebrates the Israeli Independence Day.
AMIA deputy secretary, Tomas Saieg, stated that the headmaster was approached by an unknown attacker who hit him with an iron bar in the head as he was screaming “Jew! Jew!”.
The assailant immediately fled the scene, while the headmaster, who was later identified as Moshe Cohen, was rushed to a nearby hospital.
“This is the first time we have to deal with this kind of attack, against the Jews,” Levin assured.
Well of course not counting the bombings in 1992 and 1994 that killed over a hundred; but hey, that was a long time ago.
