New York, NY – A five-month probe by New York City’s anticorruption agency has uncovered no evidence that disgruntled sanitation workers purposely sabotaged snow removal efforts during a massive December blizzard.

The city’s Department of Investigation released a report Friday saying that video footage and GPS records appeared to show that the overwhelming bulk of the city’s plowing fleet was in action throughout the night, and that trucks seen sitting idle were actually stuck in the snow.
The report raised questions about the credibility of a city council member who ignited a furor by claiming to have spoken with city workers who confirmed there had been a slowdown to protest budget cuts.
The agency says it interviewed two of those workers, and they disputed Councilman Dan Halloran’s account of their conversations.
So all is good now, we can have a very nice Shabbos.
Seems like the anti corruption agency is corrupt.
This was the only defense the Mayer had now this was proven untrue
Mr. Mayer please resign !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All I can say is LIARS. Did they interview anyone in the affected nieghborhoods? I live on 39th street this street was somewhat plowed during the storm. But I remember telling my son “that it seems strange that some trucks were going down the street with the plow up”. This was before I knew of the problem.
2) What excuse did they give why some streets didn’t see a plow for 4-5 days.
3) Why in the next storm one month later did it seem like each snowflake had its own snowplow? Mr. Greenfield investigate this coverup.
It is like having the fox watching the hen house. If the FBI would have investigated this incident I would believe the results more than a corrupt city agencey’s ivestigation which I have had many business dealings with in the past who offen whitewashed serious matters of abuse and neglect by city agencies. Take child welfare, police internal affairs, the housing authoirity, the department of education, the dept of sanitation, the board of health, the traffic dot, road repair , the post office, the MTA etc. Over the years I have had business dealings with all these agencies and they whitwashed every matter that had blatant and serious violations committed by these agencies. In addition, I have first hand knowledge of these agencies and they are run with a culture of corruption, massive waste, and low productivity. The private sector would not tolerate the way these agencies are run and would do a much better job for less the cost. The politiands want votes so they continue this situation for gauranteed votes by city workers whon want to keep their easy and cushy jobs .
I guess this is a perfect example of a “Snow job”!
my foooooot
Why did I see the trucks going down a snowy street with plow raised? For 3 days nothing was done.
and Obama isn’t black, and Weiner’s picture wasn’t tweeted, etc.
To #6 -The FBI only has authority to investigate certain Federal crimes. Unfortunately, incompetent, inept, malfeasant, and lazy NYC Sanitation workers, doesn’t fall within its sphere of investigatory authority.
Perhaps the corruption evident in this report will now spur people on to complain even louder. there must be an auditing body that investigates the investigators. They should now be called in.
Even the gps shouldn’t help them for the first day, they drove around the next day with raised plows , the first day in queens I didn’t see ANY – just 2 from DOT
I find it hard to believe, too. However, I would ask for people to control their anger and be careful with their language. Some of the posts are, in my opinion, over the line in terms of the language.

BIG LIARS!!! Why did they have they’re plowers up the whole time? I asked someone to put down his plow but he was laughing to me…
The streets in the Bronx got plowed — even our dead end street which is usually the last street in the borough to get plowed. I saw no evidence of slowdown or laziness.
Its a corrupted city
