He lived in London and was one of the most prominent Jewish personalities in Europe, Rabbi Dunner was the Executive Director of the CER (Conference of European Rabbis).
Several years ago, Rabbi Dunner lost his son, R. Ben Zion Dunner in a serious car accident.
Rabbi Aryeh Goldberg, VP “Rabbinical Centre of Europe” took released the following statement today saying, “on behalf of the Council of European Rabbis, and the hundreds of rabbis from all over the continent, I want to send our condolences to the family. The late Rabbi Abba Dunner was a pillar of European Rabbis and communities, to whom he dedicated his life, his strength and energy “.
A True Gentleman and a Very Dedicated Yid. A Sad day for Klal Yisrael indeed.

What a shock! BDE. Did not know he wasn’t well. Was contantly hearing of his great work through a friend who did for yiddishkeit with his help. What a loss!
As someone who grew up in London and knew R’ Abba zt”l and his family quite well, this is devastating news. His wife passed away a few years ago and as mentioned his beloved son was niftar on Purim in a car accident and now R’ Abba himself. He was a tremendous personality and an exceptionally nice person who did so much for the klal. I’m heartbroken on learning of his petirah.
Abba was a wonderful, warm, and extremely caring man. He is profoundly missed.

BD”E. To #7 , just letting you know that R’ Aba z”l remarried approximately 3 years ago to a woman who was extremely devoted to him. May his almana, children, and siblings have a true nechama.
