The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because the discussions are ongoing, says that a demand by Hamas to audit the books of international organizations would have violated U.S. regulations banning contact with the group.
The row emerged last week when the Palestinian enclave’s Hamas rulers demanded the books of U.S.-linked International Medical Corps.
Hamas official Mohammed Awad says the group is allowed to resume work in Gaza on Sunday after Hamas officials agreed to independent auditing.
they want to audit books??? they have a history of stealing most of the aid money. talk about the wolf guarding the chicken coup! !!
It’s OK, Obama is demanding as much accountability from Hamas as he demands from his own administration.
