New York, NY – Is President Obama Angry with Brooklyn’s Orthodox Jews?

    37

New York, NY – Brooklyn pols were apoplectic when FEMA’s list of counties eligible for disaster aid included every New York City borough but theirs. Borough President Marty Markowitz pronounced himself “dumbfounded.”

Some wondered whether President Barack Obama’s administration might be miffed with Brooklyn, where Orthodox Jews angry about his Israel policy hope to flip a congressional seat that was once solidly Democratic.

One Democratic officeholder wondered about Obama: “Maybe he realizes that [Assemblyman] Dov Hikind lives in Brooklyn?”

Let him be angry; who cares? In 14 months, he will be defeated for reelection, as was two other “friends of ours”, namely Jimmy Carter, and George Herbert Walker Bush.

Don’t think he gave it much thought or cares too much. He will carry New York anyway.

If anyone truly believes Obaman has even heard of Hikind, much less would seek to carve out his district for punishment because of Hikind’s criticism of the Administration, they should go out an purchase a new “tin foil” streimel to better receive radio transmissions from the alien tea baggers who are coming to invade BP and willy. These nuts and bolts decisions are made by FEMA bureaucrats not politicians, and any effort to poltiicize the process would have been disclosed to the media and congress within nanoseconds. After Katrina, no federal career official would risk being part of a political scam related to emergency funding.

No doubt obama wants to send a message to orthodox jews. Just look at the comments on VIN on any article mentioning Obama, where he’s constantly being downgrated by all blogers, including myself.
But then look at his approval rating accross the country where 72% are unsatisfied with him.

I think the question isn’t who the President is angry at…that’s irrelevant. The concern of the president should be why is Brooklyn angry at him. He’s the public servant

The question that should be asked is if Governor Cuomo has anything against Brooklyn. He’s the one who made the request for a disaster declaration to the president.

I don’t understand how relief services where given to the other 4 boroughs but not Brooklyn. Are you for real? What is the real reason. I can’t believe it. Is this really true? Why are people screaming about this, if it were true it would be grossly unfair.

There are not enough Orthodox Jews in Bklyn (even if they all voted) to be of a concern to a Presidential candidate.

How about because Brooklyn wasn’t a disaster zone. Now let’s see all the “fiscal consoivatives” commenting on VIN condemn the “Socialist” president.

To #’s 23 & 25- Thank you for your support regarding Meyerfreund-#14; I don’t know if he intentionally misspelled the word “surprise” or the word “whether”. However, at this point, I really don’t feel that Obama cares if he loses the 2012 election or not. He will go through the motions, during next year’s campagin; however, with high unemployment, and other economic problems, I think that the Republicans stand a very good chance of defeating him, although it will probably be a close election. In any event, when Obama leaves office, he will have a very promising and lucrative career on the lecture circuit, and receive at least $125,000 per speech. Therefore, why does he need the tsouris of being President?

Don’t worry about. Staten Island gets left out of things all the time. Brooklynites will get used to it.

I wish people would stop bashing the Tea Party Movement. Their main goal is to return to the principles of the Constitution. I think it’s totally necessary because power mongers like our current “president” behave as if they’re above the law and need to be reminded what our country stands for.
