Interviewed by Arutz Sheva’s Hebrew service, he said that while the Talmud warns against paying a certain price to ransom captive Jews as an incentive for more abductions, it also demands that committments to free captives must be honored and that “a Jewish soldier is worth 2,000 non-Jews.”

Rabbi Ariel said the question was whether those released would return to terror, a question rabbis are not qualified to answer. He noted that it took Israeli governments five years to reach this decision.

At last, a rav who acknowledges that rabbonim are not competent to make judgements on issues of national security and geopolitical decisions. For that alone he has my respect although I don’t agree with the outcome of setting these terrorists free from jail.

Listen, release as many terrorists as it takes to get back Israelis. Only thing is, before you release them, microchip them (put them out to do it). Then track them and let them lead you to the wolf’s lair. Could also put time released poison in the them so they drop dead 48 – 72 hours after they are released. Good ideas right?

Negotiate with them and then kill them.

No mercy to the enemy. Kill the terrorists. Or lie to them like they do to us.
