Police in riot helmets hauled several protesters to their feet and handcuffed them at an intersection one block from Wall Street.

“All day, all week, shut down Wall Street!” the crowd chanted.

Hundreds of protesters thronged intersections around the financial district, an area of narrow, crooked streets running between stately sandstone buildings housing banks, brokerage houses and the New York Stock Exchange.

After several arrests along one street, protesters retreated.

I like the picture of the brothers holding up signs “get a job” and “occupy a desk”
I dont feel entitled to an opinion about OWS because truthfully I dont really get what they are trying to accomplish. I get that the economy is a mess, and maybe it’s true that the rich should be taxed more (though I dont know exactly what that would entail)
BUT I do think the way they are going about it is ridiculous. They’re creating chaos, disrupting businesses and lives and wasting NYPD resources, money and time.

I think it’s time for the rest of us “99%” to start a counter-movement.
Working hard for your money is a way of life, it’s the way it’s always been, America was built on a free market economy. Socialism is not the answer.

So who’s with me? Who would like to protest the protesters.

I do like the “Occupy a Desk” sign. Most of these kids look like a bunch of spoiled college students to me that have been brainwashed by their liberal professors who are enjoying six figure jobs courtesy of the tax payer and encouraging their students ot fight the system man, jsut like I did druing Vietnam, man. These protestors are anarchists and anti-capitalists, and must be put down aggresively. Their only goal is to disrupt, not to protest.

Why taunt these poor people with the “Get a Job” and “Occupy a Desk” signs. People are graduating from college with tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt, only to find that job opportunities are scarce everywhere, thanks to investment bankers who fire American workers, send jobs overseas, and then pocket the difference. Mitt Romney made his entire fortune by acquiring distressed corporations, firing all the workers, selling off the assets, and keeping what was left.

Wall Street bankers do not create jobs, they DESTROY jobs!

Oh and Bucky you are sadly misinformed. University professors do not make anywhere near six figures.

    Funny.

There were NO arrests during any of the tea party rallies. Yet, these ‘non-violent’ protests have multiple arrests daily.

    Wake up.

These young protesters are the product of the mixed up liberal looneys of the sixties.
This is why our country is going down. We keep electing liberal politicians with the same liberal views. Thats why it took so long for the police to vacate these troublemakers.

If Bin Ladin did not succeed in closing Wall Street for more than three business days, then these characters are certainly not going to succeed!
