Federal Transportation Security Administration officials said Sunday that they reached out to Lenore Zimmerman and continue to investigate her complaint.

But the agency denied that its agents strip-searched the Long Beach grandma.

Reached Sunday at her winter home in Florida, Zimmerman said the TSA was full of bull.

“I say they’re lying,” she said. “They’re doing it to protect their butts.”

She also said she doesn’t recall the TSA calling her.

“I really don’t remember if they called to apologize,” said Zimmerman, explaining that she’s been so upset she’s been taking sleeping pills.

The picture is begining to become rather clear. It’s an old woman who is forgetting things and the way it looks has just imagined that they strip searched her and out of respect the TSA has decided to apologize to her.

No government agency apologizes for something they did not do. TSA has recently been caught doing many things that are unprofessional and against rules and regulations. They have let agents go for many different reasons related to inappropriate conduct over past years. You can google the stories. I do not believe this woman has any reason to lie and apparently many of you are ageists who are quickly dismissive of elderly and their feelings and their perceptions of events and it is appalling. Many times some of us do this to children, or men do it to women. Stop being so dismissive of what she has to say. None of you were there.

In 2004, the TSA questioned as to what I was carrying, and it appeared that a report was written; I was hand searched (including private areas) in public. This occured before this was a nationwide policy. Another TSA agent seemed annoyed that she couldn’t find anything incriminating in my luggage, so she took it back to another area, for another screening. I heard her remark something about “explosive residue”. In any event, they had “bupkis”, and after delaying me, allowed me to proceed. Since I didn’t trust the local TSA officials, I wrote a complaint to my local Congressman. He considered my complaint serious (unlike the TSA official at the airport), and forward my report to Washington. My Congressman was persistent, and after several months, I received in writing, an official apology for that incident. The Assistant TSA Administrator agreed with me that the local TSA ground personnel should have given me the courtesy of informing me what they were searching for, and why they were conducting an extensive search. However, they alleged that no TSA report on that incident existed. In EY, I never experienced such nonsense!
