New York, NY – Bloomberg Against Ban of Sanitation Stickers

New York, NY – Mayor Bloomberg said he was “adamantly” against a City Council bill to ban the Sanitation Department from slapping the pesky, fluorescent stickers on cars that block street-sweeping trucks.

“I think it’s one of the least productive things that could be legislated,” he told reporters. “Stickers are an enforcement tool that have shown that they keep our streets clean and if you take them away there’s no reason to believe that we won’t go back to the dirty streets that we had before.”

“I’m disappointed but not surprised the mayor opposes legislation which would make life a little less frustrating for New York City drivers,” said bill sponsor David Greenfield (D-Brooklyn).

If Mr Bloomy wants the city to be clean let him get Vacuum Cleaner Trucks as in Israel, picks up all the garbage nobody has to move cars, the sweepers in NYC go so fast they make the streets dirtier , all he wants is to make money and harass people, u can’t have a real Mniches Hanefesh in NY

“u can’t have a real Mniches Hanefesh in NY”

No! That’s yet another excellent and compelling reason for you to leave the hellhole that is New York and to come on aliya to Israel.

why am I not surprised? with his own grand fleet of luxury vehicles, private jets and servants cooing to his every need, no wonder the Emperor has got no clue what it is to be an ordinary citizen. He never has to forgo brushing his teeth in the morning to run out of the house to move his car – it’s all done by his royal servants.
and then there’s the theory that he’s not running for re-election, so why give a damn about lowly dirty poor citizens who’l need to take a day or too to scratch off the sticker.
I don’t know NY politics well, but heck do I thank my lucky stars that I don’t live there. I really feel for you guys out there in the Big Apple.

I can’t fail and be amazed in the utter stupidity of this man, Bloomberg. Does he really believe that people will ignore Alternate Side Parking rules just because they won’t have these stupid stickers littering their cars and then the streets after they are removed, although they still have to pay these hefty fines?

This just demonstrates again that Bloomberg has declared all motorists in NYC his worst enemy. Look how much effort goes into sticking it to drivers.

My block is filthy and that always happens onsanitation day. Maybe greenfield should look into that how sloppy the sanitation workers r as they rip bags leaving the contents on the sidewalk and on recycling days the street is tidy until the truck rolls down the block 80% of recycling is removed and the rest is left behind strewn in the gutter or sidewalk and these r flatpacked boxes!!!!

So Bloomberg really thinks that those stickers got our streets cleaner? Just trying to take a cheapshot at Greenfeld. Every normal person, with or without a car knows that these stickers have to go. Good job Mr. Greenfeld.

Pay back time for the Bloomy to oppose a bill sponsored by greenfield, for bashing him by last years blizzard.

Does bloomberg own the printing company that prints these???
How do stickers keep NY clean? If anything we peel them off and throw them on the floor and makes the street even dirtier..

I wonder if his royal highness ever gets to read what people write about him, here and in other blogs. Perhaps VIN should compile a list of constructive logical comments regarding life in this city, and forward them to city council members and to the mayor….

he forgot that you get a ticket for not moving. I see the $115 tickets havent worked for hydrants because the fire department doesnt sticker the cars that park there. hes a complete fool. I am ashamed to have him as mayor. and the endless debate: the trucks do nothing, half the year theres no leaves on the ground and they certainly dont pickup garbage those sweepers, and some neighborhoods are exempt completely and they are somehow “clean”. and if its about clean streets let us park after it goes down the block. arrrrghhhh

What an idiot, “enforcement tool” ….. So he should bust our tiers if we park where we shouldn’t be parking and then say ; What a good tool …., what a shameless mayor ..
