Washington – Gingrich’s Anti-Semitic Dog Whistle: Saul Alinsky

    23

Newt Gingrich keeps on branding President Obama as a ‘Saul Alinsky’ radical. Just who is Alinsky and why he is a code word for everything the right wing despises? Washington – When Newt Gingrich is called out for using the phrase “food stamp president,” he fiercely defends the idea that he is simply pointing out the obvious: that under Obama more people signed up for food stamps. Simple as that. He is not gently plucking racist tropes for the benefit of his base, but just telling it like it is. The man has plausible deniability. He can wink and then say he was just blinking.

So I’m sure that will be the case when I bring up Gingrich’s fondness for mentioning a certain Saul Alinsky. The former speaker is just stating a fact.
And boy does he bring Alinsky up. I’ve heard Alinsky’s name mentioned by Gingrich in a handful of debates, usually by way of characterizing the president, as in Obama is a “Saul Alinsky radical” or “the centerpiece of this campaign, I believe, is American exceptionalism versus the radicalism of Saul Alinsky.” But what really struck me was the number of times Gingrich brought up Alinsky in his victory speech when he won the South Carolina primary: three.

What is this writer saying. In listening to Speaker Gingrich speak, he is trying to educate the American population at how really radical this president is and he is correctly pointing out that he is an avid student of that radical socialist Alinsky. Go Newt go.

Alinsky if not RED was certainly PINK.He was a radical-leftist COMMUNITY ORGANIZER in Chicago .So was Obama and therefore the reference.Newt Gingrich
is a friend of the jewish community and israel.Ask sheldon adelson if you have any doubts !

Alinsky was a Chicago based radical socialist, Obama’s social ideas are based on his writings even though he openly denied property freedom and praised people in the likes of Lenin. When Obama’s press secretary was yesterday asked for a response, he just dodged the question.

The author of this article is a typical liberal elitist. The author thinks people are ignorant and don’t know who Alinsky was and what he stood for. The author also thinks that people are to stupid to research and find out who Alinsky was.
Additionally, if a person was trying to read between the lines to find racism where it doesn’t exist, it is easier to find it in the “food stamp president” remark.
This is all beside the fact that the underlying premise of this article is absurd, but what else do you expect from The Forward, it is a leftist pinko rag that virtually no one reads except for a few old, cranky jews.

Gingrich is such a slime, he will use whatever codewords he can to incite hatred to futher his popularity with blue collar, white christian voters. Anyone who worked with him during his tenure as house speaker knows that his lack of midos (aka ethics) got to the point that even the most conservative house republicans voted to censure him and expel him from his leadership position. I truly hope he is the Republican nominee since Obama will make him wish he was back in redneck Georgia.

How does opposing a socialist who happened to have had Jewish ancestors make one an anti semite? This doesn’t belong on a frum site

Didn’t you notice how a few weeks ago Gingrich suddenly started to talk about Bloomberg’s money? He repeated it over and over in different interviews. And a couple of years ago he kept using “Goldman Sachs” almost exclusively as a code for Wall Street. Coincidence?

I don’t know if Newt is pushing anti-semitic buttons, but I agree with #5 that Newt is slimy. Unlike #5 , I wish the Republicans would nominate someone I could vote for. I’d love to get rid of Obama, but if it was an Obama-Gingrich race, I’d probably vote for a 3rd party candidate.

Saul Alinsky was a rosha and there is no doubt about that. Obama is a chosid of Alinsky and there is no doubt about that either. If the mainstream media would have done their job four years ago, you libs would have known about it.

The writer is a LIAR of the highest caliber. NEVER has Gingrich winked when talking about Obama being the Food Stamp President!!!!!!! The writer is a typical ObamaMania Socialist Liberal Hack who is as thin skinned as His Arrogance himself.

Election Day 2012 will be a holiday when we IYH vote these creeps out and Jan 20, 2013 will be a National Holiday!

Did everyone seem to miss the part of the article that mentioned that there is no evidence at all that Obama was influenced by Alinsky, or that he even knew who he was? As a long-time liberal, I had never heard his name and I can tell you that all of the liberal radio and tv shows have been giggling about how none of them had, either. I’ve lived in the South and am guessing that very few of you have. Southerners absolutely do talk in racist code and they understand perfectly well what Gingrich is saying. It is not politically correct to directly be anti-Black or Jewish, so he talks about “food stamps,” and “Alinsky.” This is as clear to a Southerner as Yiddish slang is in BP. Gingrich is not saying this because he hates Jews or Blacks- he’s a politician and knows what message will get him votes.

Why are people here so ashamed of great Jewish left wing activists and thinkers.. I think all Jews should be proud of people like Saul Alinsky.. And our peoples involvement in great ideologies like socialism and anarchism.. Like Alinsky and Emma Goldman..

“But what’s even stranger about Gingrich’s incessant mentioning of Alinsky in conjunction with Obama is that the president himself has never mentioned Alinsky as an influence — never. Obama was 10 when Alinsky died in 1972.

So why does Gingrich keep bringing up Saul Alinsky like it’s a verbal tic — without identifying who he is, without characterizing his significance? I might be overreacting, it’s possible, but if I hear what I hear when he uses that obviously Jewish, foreign-sounding name, I’m sure others do as well.”

I pretty much thought this part of the article best summed up the whole situation!

WHY keep bringing Salinsky’s name up at all, when it’s clear Barack Obama has never even MET the man, let alone “been influenced” by him, or his work!

What is Newt even talking about?!?!

This whole drama w\Newt & his (racially tinged) accusations against the President are getting old! First Newt said Obama was a “loudmouthed Tribesman”, then he said Obama has a “European Socialist Mentality” & NOW he’s saying Obama is too much of a Jew-loving liberal community organizer?!

I mean, WHY are we even allowing him to get away w\talking like this?!?!

    Is THIS Presidential material?

Alinsky was an Anti-Semite, his writings caused much hatred towards Jews and resulted in Jewish suffering! He admitted himself that he had no use for Judaism but would continue to identify himself as a Jew.
Gingrich is doing a fine job of exposing Barry Soetoro for what he is, BUT let us not forget that Shrillary Rotten Klinton is also a Saul Alinskyist, she met him in person and wrote her thesis on his works

Gingrich is such a clown. His ludicrous babble is designed to fit right in with the propagandist nonsense of the infotainment media he adores so much.

Alinsky’s primary focus to create outrage, by any means necessary (including propaganda, loud demonstrations, and violent rhetoric), to overcome those in power. That’s Alinsky in a nutshell.

The reality, at the end of the day, is that it is GINGRICH himself who utilizes Alinsky’s tactics more than anyone else.

    – He make bogeymen out of people who disagree with him.
    – He is a master of creating fear of the unknown (ie. make Obama ‘foreign’ with all the birther nonsnese)
    – He makes up lies that sound believable knowing his audience is too dumb to fact check him.
    – He convinces his idiot audience that fact-checking and intellectualism are considered “elitist”, which directly contradicts the Principles of Conservatism as laid out by Buckley.

Essentially, Gingrich uses Alinsky’s name in an Alinsky-like, propagandist way.

Alinsky = Communist = Community Orgaizer = Obama

His fans are too dumb to know it, and that’s nobody but the idiot-class will vote for him.

We need CONSERVATIVES… NOT LIARS & PROPAGANDISTS LIKE GINGRICH!
